Joey came back
Aug. 9th, 2020 11:57 amhi everyone
I'm pleased to report that my wrist is healing nicely, I've pretty much got full range of motion in it again and typing no longer hurts.
I also reached out to my GP after my last depressive episode didn't ease up and am back on a low-grade anti-depressant. It's been less than a week since I've been on them so I'm going through the roller coaster of side effects at the moment. That's super fun as always. I'm looking forward to the end of the month when I should start seeing some improvements.
I've got a fracture clinic appointment this coming Friday to see how well my ankle is healing. I'm a little anxious because I don't know what to expect. I'm assuming they'll be taking an x-ray and will be able to tell? I've been in cast 7 weeks now so I'm really hoping it's going to come off and I can start getting back to normal!
Other than that, I've mostly been just reading and watching TV. I started logging the TV I was watching on trakt.tv but I've completely forgotten for the last couple of weeks. I'm not sure I can bothered to back and catch up. I do need to update my goodreads as well.
I've fallen down a total Youtube blackhole. I started on crafting videos, ended up on planners, then somehow went from that to DIY/decorating, to home renovations, to watching people make clothes. I have absolutely no idea what happened there!
And while all of that is enjoyable for me, it doesn't really make for interesting blog posts for you. Since
sunshine_challenge finished, I'm really struggling to think about things to write about. I've even thought about googling how to write a book review. I enjoyed the random art/history nerding sections of my posts and would like to figure out a way of incorporating that going forward as well, but I'm not quite sure how.
I think I need to find some other kind of blogging/posting challenge, I guess pinterest or somewhere would be a good place to look?

Date: 2020-08-09 11:18 am (UTC)Coming from tumbleh, DW has been a learning curve the whole way. It takes more to post because I need to have something to talk about. I mean, I could just shitpost links but that's just lame and frankly isn't that good content. I also realised that if I want people commenting on my posts, I a) need to have posts to comment on and b) visit other people's journals. Interaction takes a bit more work than on tumbleh or pifo because there are no convenient reblog or like buttons.
So, I decided to cycle the themes: things I watch, things I listen, things I read. Occasional memes and knittings. I don't have to know how to write a full-fleshed book review, I can just write about how I liked it. Podcasts are an endless source of content. And perhaps writing about stuff I knit gives me the needed nudge to finish things.
But I also promised myself I wouldn't take any unneeded stress about writing. I know myself and if I gave myself rules about posting every day, I'd stress myself over nothing, really, but it would definitely take the joy out of posting. So, I'm trying to keep it light and write about things I enjoy doing.
I have no idea if this made any sense to you or if it's of any use either. Just wanted to peek in and say hi.

I can relate, I get like that only with website people like wikis and tv tropes.
I enjoyed them too, sunshine and stuff is good when it happens but when it ends it’s very much ??? What now

Date: 2020-08-09 11:43 pm (UTC)DW needs a lot more challenges and event questions, I think. It would keep activity on here more consistent, especially for us who need some direction from time to time.
