I've seen a couple of people over the last few weeks posting about Music Monday and I'm torn between thinking it's a great idea and wanting to share the music that I love, and the realisation that I have absolutely terrible taste in music and do I really want to admit to loving the music that I love?

In my defence, I grew up in the 90s and was a teen in the 00s, so I can't take the complete blame for the cheesy pop music that I love. I just love music that puts a smile on my face, makes me want to dance and sing along. I like to think that there's nothing wrong with that, except see point one about my taste in music being terrible!

With that said, however: fuck it!

Bring It All Back is probably my all-time favourite song ever. I was maybe 7 or 8 when it came out, I learned the dance routine and can probably still do it - although very badly. Also, among my first crushes were Hannah (still is!) and Jon. I know it's not 'cool' to like bands like S Club 7 but, like I said, it always makes me smile and it makes me think of sunshine, blue skies and the beach - mostly because of the video. And as I've got older, I've appreciated the lyrics and the sentiment behind the song more
Don't stop, never give up
Hold your head high and reach the top
Let the world see what you have got
Bring it all back to you
Now that we've got that out of the way LOL I've had a really good day, it's been productive AND fun. I even left the flat! Although I did take the stairs down to the street on my ass, not sure I'll ever be confident enough on the crutches for stairs!

I went out for lunch with my friend, Jane - a belated birthday celebration, her birthday was 10 days ago. I was super nervous about it but ended up being really impressed with everything the pub had in place - you had to pre-book, the tables were spaced out and only so many in use, there was a one way system throughout and you could order your food and pay from your table using an app.

Once she dropped me back off home, I sorted out the recycling. I couldn't take it downstairs to the bins, but it's all sorted into type and ready for Tally to take down to the bins tomorrow - recycling comes tomorrow morning so that was important to get done.

I also got my inbox to zero which was my main goal for the day.

Next up, dinner (mince with a tomato/pepper/onion sauce and rice), followed by sitting down and properly planning out my [community profile] seasonofkink bingo card and hopefully writing more of the 'object insertion' prompt.

Hope you've had a good Monday!

I too grew up in the same time as you did so I remember S Club 7 being part of my early music taste. I wasn’t super into them, but they were one of those bands that were inescapable at the time (and their songs were always likeable)

Aww that sounds like you had a nice time, yay!

Inboxes can be... zero? I dunno that sounds like sorcery to me

I need to get back to seasonofkink but my writing spark is... elsewhere.

My Monday’s been ok, more lazy then anything, thoughI did read my book some more

My daughter (who must be about your age) was a great fan of S Club 7 so that song brings back memories for me too!

Everybody has terrible taste in music according to someone with different taste so just enjoy it! :D

Lovely to hear that you got out and about in a relaxing way.

I was born in the late 90s and was a child in the 00s and a teen in the 2010s, so a lot of music like this is completely out of my sight. This song is super cheerful though! I can see why you like it. You shouldn't ever feel embarrassed for liking something! I can understand the fear of judgment though, I definitely have my own likes that I'm like that with.

Music Mondays does seem fun. Maybe I'll look into doing something similar. I listen to A LOT of music—I use it as a coping mechanism for my anxiety and adhd/autism, so I'd never run out of music to talk about. The problem is I wouldn't even know where to start lol.
