This Bisexual Prefers Blondes
Jul. 12th, 2020 07:43 pmUsually, as that there subject line suggests, I prefer blondes. Most of my fictional crushes have been on men and women with blonde hair. Currently we're looking at Thor or Captain Marvel or Harley Quinn or Seven Of Nine. Or the Thirteenth Doctor. Or Daenerys. Or Buffy or Sam Carter etc.
Side note: Tally is not blonde, go figure.
She does, however, have beautiful curly auburn hair ♥
But we've been watching Star Wars this last week. We've watched 1-6 so far, and we're starting the Sequel Trilogy (which neither of us have seen) tonight. And I'd forgotten how much I adore Luke (blonde-ish, at least), Han and Leia. And I may have come out of the prequel trilogy with slight crushes on Obi-Wan and Padme.
The Original Trilogy are still my favourites. I don't know how many times I've seen them, I can quote most of them but I still get really nervous when Luke goes in for his shot at the Death Star, and I sit there with my fingers crossed and cheer. I still flail when Luke loses his hand, the "I am your father" gets me every time. It's great story-telling that even though I know what's coming, I get so caught up in the story that I still react.
The Prequel Trilogy I appreciated more as an (and I use this term loosely) adult. Especially watching them back-to-back and seeing how carefully, calculatedly and skillfully Palpatine manipulates Anakin - pretty chilling, actually. The Jedi really should have let a more experienced Knight train Anakin- maybe one who had, idk, experience in doing so? I wonder if things would have turned out differently? Poor kid was doomed from the start.
I'm nervous about starting the Sequels. I've heard so much about them, and such a mixture of good and bad. I'm mostly excited about meeting new characters, seeing old friends and having new adventures... but there's that edge of hoping Disney haven't fucked it up.
We're also planning on watching Rogue One, Solo and The Mandalorian - I've only heard good things about Rogue One and Mandalorian, and mixed about Solo. I guess we'll find out over the next few days.
